The Personal Press Kit

By Jen Leo | Permalink | No Comments | April 22nd, 2002 | Trackback

Today I worked on my press kit. A marketing tool that I’ll use to help pitch my book proposal, whether that’s straight to a publisher, or through an agent. Getting the agent will need the aid of the press kit too.

So, what am I putting in it? Here’s a list. Let me know if you’ve done this before and you think it needs more or less.

Laminated presentation folder
biz card
resume
clips
post card covers of books I’ve already done
praise sheet
web site clips
author bio
head shot
personalized cover letter

Damn that’s a lot of work. It’ll be an accomplishment if I can get this done in the next ten days before I leave for BEA. I’ll keep you posted. :-)
