Meeting Sarah Vowell

I made it to Sarah's show, but sadly she the press sheet was wrong and she had gone up earlier, not near the end. No matter, I had her gift bag sent to her and walked up and introduced myself after the show. She seemed a bit overwhelmed and admitted to being distracted, but spared a minute to chat. She had received the package that I sent the previous week and said that no, her publisher had not told her that she was in the book.

I said that I hoped she wasn’t angry or disappointed and she said not at all. It felt that it was an inappropriate time to talk to her, what with the deer in the headlights look, and all. I told her it was good to meet her and that I looked forward to following more of her work. Kudos to Erik, Sarah commented that it was a really nice wrap job on the gift bag.
