More Awards
By Jen Leo | Permalink |I wanted to blog about awards today and was shocked to discover that I’d missed the deadline for the ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards (June 15, 2004)
I guess I was too busy being all excited about winning the NATJA award, that I missed signing up for the ForeWord award. Travelers’ Tales has a good track record of winning these, and they were able to enter a few of their other books in time. They didn’t enter Sand since the pink phenomena had already done well and they wanted to give Hyenas Laughed at Me and Now I Know Why a better chance of winning.
Here are some more awards that you can enter your book for:
Benjamin Franklin Awards
(I’m too late on this one, too)
Lowell Thomas Awards
(Not too late for this one!)
Independent Publisher Book Awards (I can’t enter this one on my own)

Jen- I missed the 21 day window on the NATJA award, so let me say “congratulations” here. I ordered SIMB through my local Waldenbooks, and it took me a couple of days to get it. By the time I picked it up, it was a hit with the staff (most are friends of mine, so I didn’t care that they read it). I’m hoping the manager will pick it up as a permanent addition to to the travel shelf. (Lord knows it could use some help).
By the way, regarding your “Signature Room” comps, if they won’t let you combine them you can always host cocktails in the lounge on the 96th floor. http://www.signatureroom.com/lounge.html
