A Prize Worth Writing For

By Jen Leo | Permalink | No Comments | March 17th, 2004 | Trackback

Just read the award list for the Writer’s Digest 73rd Annual Writing Competition and I think you’ll be ready to edit your best work and cough up the $15.

“$2,500 in cash and the winner’s choice of a trip to New York City to meet with editors and agents, or a trip to the 2005 Maui Writers Conference.”

Now if you’re thinking, Jen, that’s not for travel…you’re wrong. There’s plenty of room for a travel submission in both of these categories:
Article: Memoirs/Personal Essay
Article: Magazine Feature Article

Go on, get writing. Entry Deadline: May 15, 2004. And if you want to see the winners from last year so you know what you have to match or beat, WD will sell it to you for another $6. Just like they’ll charge you an extra $2 for a late submission.
