Visit Britain is hosting a pretty cool travel writing contest.

Travel Writing Award

In honor of their former PR Director Bedford Pace.

“The award, in the form of a Moroccan goatskin-bound silk-lined book designed and made specially by Asprey, the distinguished London firm of jewelers and silversmiths in which the winning article will be reproduced, is open to North American-based writers whose published articles of 1,200 words or more feature Britain as a contemporary and ‘must see’ travel destination. The 2005 award also includes a week-long trip for two to Wales with accommodation in Cardiff at a five-star hotel, spa treatments and stays at Welsh Rarebits and Great Little Places hotels; air will be provided by British Airways, our exclusive partner for this prestigious award.

DEADLINE: December 15, 2004

See website for full details of how and what to submit.

(Thanks for passing this along, James!)
