Stellar Magazine

For those of you that miss BLUE, shake your withdrawals by biting into Stellar Magazine.

Stellar is a new adventure and active sports magazine to debut online in January 2005. Read on for what kind of writing they’re looking for.

And thanks over to Rolf at Vagablogging.net for passing this on.

Stellar Transmedia, is a destination website covering the lifestyle of adventure sports and active travel. We publish a print annual featuring the best of our web content. Our co-founder was former founder of Explore.com.

We are interested in travel essays, destination features, character profiles, fiction, environmental pieces, and the like. Our core demographic is akin to Outside or BLUE. We are actively looking for feature length pieces: 1,250-2,500 words. Photos are encouraged, and help one’s chances of getting published.

Old features that writers would like to see “recycled” will be considered, just so long as they are not “time sensitive.”

Pay-wise, we are young. We hope to be around for a long time to come and establish relationships with good writers. With that said, we are paying now, but not necessarily on a fixed scale. Depends what the story is. Ideally, you’re willing to “work with us” to start, and build from there.

Submissions should be sent to Philip Drake at: philip@stellartransmedia.com.
