Ok, so the title of the post makes this conference sound really nerdy. But I would love to take this. Why? Because it’s book people talking about different ways an indpendent publisher can sell more books.

NYU’d Third Management Forum for Independent Publishers
MARKETING: GOALS, STRATEGIES, AND ACTION PLANS FOR GROWTH

Take a look at their agenda. Here are some of the lectures that interest me:

  • The Changing Role of Your Distributor in Your Sales and Marketing Plan
  • Direct Mail: Creating and Running Effective Programs
  • Financing Your Marketing and Growth Plans
  • Editorial Content and Development
  • The Role of Publicity in Marketing and Revenue Growth
  • Selling to Non-Book, Non-Traditional Markets

And these look pretty good, too…. Refreshment Break, Refreshment Break, Refreshment Break, Refreshment Break, Refreshment Break

It’s $950, or $855 if you book by March 18. (212) 998-7171, Monday–Friday. “Please refer to conference number SCPS02.”
