Anne Lamott is Blogging

I am a huge fan of Anne Lamott, it started when I was pregnant and someone turned me on to her Operating Instructions. I laughed so hard at the sincerity of the book that I think that I wet myself, which is not hard to do when you are pregnant with twins. I have had an addiction to her ever since. I have been desperately trying to find a way to see if she still gives lectures, writing workshops etc. I am a new writer and would love to get feedback from her if possible. I am a writer in Israel and would love to recieve Anne Lamott’s bloggs.

Anne Lamott is my favorite author. Her books are the ones that I pick out too read myself to sleep at night…even though I may have read that particular book a gazillion times already! I admire her commitment to her sobriety, God and son, and I am grateful for her ability to make me laugh out loud with her self-depreciating wit and sarcasm! If only ALL born-again Christians kept it real like Anne does. She has convinced me that she truly does have a relationship with her God.

I am looking for a local writer to act as a mentor and be interviewed by my 8th grade daughter who is doing a year long project for school. Anne Lamott was also instumental to me when I was pregnant and single with her 13 years ago! Anybody know how to contact her or if any other local writers would be available for a young person interested in writing to interview?

I was lucky enough to stumble upon Anne Lamott’s work through a friend. That friend gave me “Bird by Bird,” to inspire and encourage me with my writing. I’m new to writing and have already experienced some ups and downs. It was such a breath of fresh air to read Anne’s work and see that I am right were I should be, and where I will continue to be for the rest of my life…Writing. Her wit, humor and grace inspired me at a very low point and I will continue to read and enjoy her work. Right now I’m putting a call out to the universe to find a writing group or a mentor. I believe it will happen. I felt compelled to say something to Anne even though she will probably never read this. Thank you Anne, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. God bless you, you’re a sweet soul.

I just read Anne Lamott’s GRACE (EVENTUALLY) while on a flight. It was the first time I did not say continual “Hail Marys” while in the air…in fact, I think this was the first time I have ever laughed out loud while on an airplane. (Of course I did not laugh during the “The Born” chapter, but I am pro-choice and do not judge abortions or the women who choose them. I just leave that to God and the woman.)

Saw Anne speak last night at a libary event. For a Christian she is incredibly mean spirited. Though I like her writing style
