Bill Bryson’s New Book

By Jen Leo | Permalink | No Comments | June 9th, 2005 | Trackback

It doesn’t matter what topic he’s writing about, we can’t get enough of Bill, can we? According to Ireland Online, Bill Bryson is not only staying in Britain for good, but also coming out with another new book. The next one, will be about growing up in 1950s America. Due out Fall 06, this book is expected to be “nothing but jokes.”

A Short History won the Aventis Prizes for Science Books 2004, but he promised his forthcoming work would be “nothing but jokes”, which he believed had pleased his publishers: “I think they still think of it (A Short History) as a bit of a fluke, and probably a dangerous one at that.

“I think they are kind of glad I am getting back to the kind of thing I am normally associated with.”
