There are a lot of creative efforts to encourage people to help out those who’ve lost from the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Do what you can, and if you’re in the Bay Area this week, go see some of your favorite writers at Book Passage. This will be an event you won’t forget.

What: Writers4Relief: A benefit for victims of the New Orleans disaster
When: Friday, Sept. 9, 2005
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Where: Book Passage, Corte Madera

Please join Amy Tan, Robert Olen Butler, Elizabeth Dewberry, Paul Loeb, Isabel Allende, Lalita Tademy, Ayelet Waldman, Jane Ganahl, Armistead Maupin, Susanne Pari, and other writers as they share their thoughts and read passages to help recreate the spirit of New Orleans and raise money for the victims of this disaster. (More writers are being added. Check here as the list grows).

The suggested donation is $20.00, but more will be welcomed

And if you want more details on how this event came together, check out the Book Passage blog.
