Lonely Planet: Bluelist Contest & Tales from Nowhere

bluelist.jpgTwo newsworthy items from Lonely Planet to share this morning:

1) LP is sponsoring a unique Bluelist Contest which could find you on your way to Shanghai for some valuable on-the-road training with a Lonely Planet author. All you have to do is create an original bluelist and submit it by February 28, 2006. Review the sample lists on their website, or check out their brand-new Bluelist book, to study-up on style and see what they’ve already got. (Thanks to John Rambow at Jaunted for pointing us to this one!)

2) Don George is seeking submissions for a new Lonely Planet anthology, Tales from Nowhere. He’d like original, unpublished stories of 1,000 to 3,000 words that need to be submitted by January 15, 2006. Check out Rolf Pott’s website for all the details on exactly what kind of material they’re looking for.
