Islands Magazine wants to send you to Tahiti

tahiti.jpgYes, I’m not kidding. A FREE trip to Tahiti. It’s a new way of compensating writers for their work. It’s hard to imagine a writing contest with a “funner” prize. And yes, “funner” should be added to Webster’s as a real word. Why not?! This defines it.

Send Me to Tahiti Contest

Just send Islands 1000 words on your most inspirational tantalizing island experience ever. Their editors will select the best one, publish it, AND send you and a friend on a trip to TAHITI. And that includes five nights at the Sheraton Moorea Resort & Spa.

Good luck everybody!

I wouldn’t mind being paid occasionally with a free trip — then I could turn around and sell the stories from that trip to other mags. LOL

Guess I don’t qualify for this contest. Read the restrictions:

“Also not eligible are those individuals who derive more than 20 percent of their income as a writer or editor.”

The travel writing universe just got smaller.
