nyttravelshow06.jpg If you’re going to be in the New York City area next weekend, come on by the New York Times Travel Show. Daniel and Darrel, the great guys at Longitude Books have put together a swell line up of travel writers and seminars.

There’s an impressive list of travel writers giving workshops. Here’s the full list, followed by a few that I’m interested in checking out.

Don George interviews Simon WInchester: Sat. 1:00 p.m. Columbus Room
Arthur Frommer: Sat. 11:00 a.m. Columbus Room, Presents Hot Spots, Hot Deals.
Arthur Frommer and Pauline Frommer: Sat. 3:00 p.m. Columbus Room, How to be a Travel Genius
Don George moderating Holly Morris and Ross Wehner: Sun. 2:00 p.m. Magellan Room

There are a bunch of other authors singing books, too, including Ayun Halliday!

David Farley and I will be teaching a FREE two hour Travel Writing Workshop on Saturday from 4 – 6 p.m. in the Magellan Room. David is also an editor and Travelers’ Tales and his book, TT Prague will be seeing first light at the NYT Travel Show. Come on by, we’ll be signing books afterwards, too. David and co-editor Jessie Sholl will be doing a book signing on Saturday from 1 - 4pm and Sunday from noon to 3pm. Stop by and meet them at the Travelers’ Tales booth.

So, please stop by and come say hello. I’m inclined to do a beer night as well, but no firm plans as of yet.

Last year’s show was great, so I’m planning to swing by again this year. Looking forward to checking out the seminar by you and Farley!
