About.com is looking guides for a variety of subjects, including travel topics. Qualifications include residency in a particular city or surrounding area or travels there frequently. Guides are required to write one article bi-weekly and update their blog three times a week. According to the guide compensation page, new guides are guaranteed to earn at least $500 a month, with a possibility to earn much more.

Tampa Bay

Before you apply, read an overview of the program, advantages, and training process. The application is pretty basic. Choice your topic, enter your information (name, address, phone number), a relevant writing sample, and a list of your qualifications.
