Want to document your summer vacation? Need to tweak your writing skills? Here are a few travel-related workshops to help.

The 4-Week Travel Writer

Date/Time: Tuesdays, starting August 8 through August 29, from 7-10 p.m.
Location: West Hollywood, California
Instructor: Eric Hiss
Cost: $375 ($350 for Avant Guild members)
Details: Students will learn to turn their love of travel into a full-time career. Topics include studying pitch letters, assessing markets, rules of reporting, and much more.

If you’re going to be in town for Book Passage’s Travel Writers and Photographers Conference later this month and want to get a learning head start, consider taking Photography chair, Robert Holmes’ travel photography class. The field workshop will be held a day before the conference and will feature a trip to Chinatown. If you’re attending the conference, there’s a $50 discount.
