lp1.jpgTony and Maureen Wheeler, founders of the Lonely Planet have just released two new travel literature books:
1) Bad Lands, by Tony Wheeler:
Tony talks about his experience traveling through 9 countries on the so called “axis of evil”: Afghanistan, Albania, Burma, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, and Saudi Arabia; yes, countries rather isolated from tourists for various political and economic reasons. I really look forward to getting my hands on this one.

2)Unlikely Destinations:The Lonely Planet Story, jointly written by both Tony and Maureen Wheeler:
Clear from it’s title, this book talks about the 36-year evolution of Lonely Planet from a barely stapled guide written by two travelers on the road, to the world’s largest independent guidebook publisher.

When:
The couple will be hopping around the United States from June 4-18.

Where:
Hotspots where they will touch down - NY, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Boulder, Denver, Berkeley, Seattle, San Francisco, Corte Madera and Portland. Full schedule day/time/place can be found here.

Many places will require an RSVP, so log-on and book your spot now if you are interested.

Thanks for the heads up! I went to the presentation in New York last night and it was wonderful. It’s clear how passionate they are about what they do.
