Call For Story Submissions: Traveling Mama

By Abha | Permalink | 2 comments | March 29th, 2008 | Trackback

I hadn’t seen the Traveling Mamas website before and I think it’s pretty cool. Run by 4 mothers who are professional travel-writers, the site has a neat travel blog with focused advice on family travel; worth a visit if you haven’t already.

Anyway, they are looking for 300-1000 word travel-themed stories for an anthology series. Possible themes include: family travel, romantic escapes, girlfriend trips and solo getaways. You can submit published work and you don’t have to be a mum!

Deadline: September 1, 2008

Submit to: anthology@travelingmamas.com

Compensation: $50 on publication + copy of the book

Qinghai is an important livestock breeding center. Its livestock includes sheep, yaks, pian niu (crossbreed of bulls and yaks) and horses. Qinghai produces large quantities of sheep wool, meat, leather and sausage casings for other parts of the country. It is an important producer of medicinal materials such as caterpillar fungus, antlers, musk and rhubarb. Qinghai Lake is famous for its scale less naked carp. The province grows spring wheat, highland barley, broad beans, potatoes and rapeseed.
