Melbourne Festival of Travel Writing
By Nicholas | Permalink |Kelly Amabile over at Lost in Place (and once at Written Road) brought this to our attention. The inaugural Melbourne Festival of Travel Writing will take place on July 19-20 in Melbourne, Australia. The event is hosting several big names including Thomas Swick editor of the South Florida Sun Sentinel (one of the last decent US newspaper travel sections), Tony Wheeler (the founder of Lonely Planet), and a personal favorite of mine, Fiona Dunlop. Numerous talks, lectures, and workshops ($170 - last day of registration July 11…Sorry!) are planned. The Pass to the event is $110 at the door ($55 for a day pass).
