Twitter Part Two: People You Should Follow And New Written Road Account

By Tim Shisler | Permalink | 9 comments | September 25th, 2008 | Trackback

I still can’t believe I get paid to do this. Sometimes as writers it’s good to step back and count our blessings. Got rejected recently? Yeah, me too. But you know what? I went back with another pitch and landed an assignment. It’s a game of adversity and those who are willing to work, push through, and put themselves on a ledge are successful. So take a moment and relax those shoulders, have a sip of tea, and take look outside: it’s a beautiful world and somehow we are lucky enough to play in it.

Following up on last week’s Twitter post, I am happy to announce Written Road’s arrival to the party. The new Twitter account will help us post more job leads, multimedia examples, interviews, and links to our favorite blog posts. But we don’t want to just talk, we also want to listen and converse. So feel free to direct message us, send us questions, shoot us examples of your work, and tell us what we are doing right and what we could do better.

Finally, as I mentioned last week, I’ve compiled a short list of people I would recommend checking out. This is just the tip of the iceberg, so if there is anyone out there who you feel we should be following, leave a comment and let us know. A little bit of conversation can go a long way in this business.

Happy writing all.

i love twitter! i just used a contact there yesterday to help get a leukemia fundraiser on our local news. despite sending out press releases weeks ago, a quick direct message on twitter (on the day of the event, no less) was enough to get it on air! i twitter @ maliayoshioka.
