Budget Travel
The publication is looking for a Deputy Editor for their New York office. The Deputy Editor will help oversee and steer all aspects of the magazine and special projects. S/he will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to top-edit all sections of the magazine, and conceive of, assign and edit packages and features. S/he will manage a team of editors and oversee special projects, including books, inserts, and TV opportunities.

Requirements: 10+ years senior level experience managing an editorial staff for a substantial editorial brand. S/he should have top-notch line-editing, a font of fresh ideas, and knowledge of food and wine, style, adventure, hotels, and more. S/he will have a collaborative spirit, as well as experience developing/maintaining editorial processes and standards, and building a strong editorial team.

Outside’s Go
Outside’s offshoot publication is looking for a Senior Editor for their Sante Fe, NM office for the period of February 18 to July 31, 2009.

Requirements: The candidate for this position should have a minimum of five years as a magazine editor and have at least attained the position of associate editor. At least one year of online editing experience is required. A background in travel or men’s magazines is preferred. There will be an editing test.
