Everyone keeps asking me what sand in my bra feels like. I say, come try it for yourself! Travelers' Tales is hosting a beach party and bonfire to celebrate the release of:

Sand in My Bra and Other Misadventures:
Funny Women Write from the Road.

Location: Ocean Beach, San Francisco
When: Saturday, May 24, 3:30pm until the wood runs out

Details are attached, bring your friends.
Hope to see you there!

WHAT TO BRING: Beach toys, picnic food if you like, and a shovel to bury Jen with. We'll be bringing our baseball mits, frisbees, munchies for all, marshmallows to roast, and beer and wine. Please bring your family and friends, there's plenty of sand for everyone.

LOCATION: South of the Cliff House. Draw a line from the Beach Chalet straight to the waves (due west), and somewhere right around there is where we'll have our gathering and fire. Look around. I'll have pink baloons to mark our spot.

Please pay attention to the parking/no parking signs in the parking areas. Some scofflaws at previous bonfires we've been to have been ticketed

OTHER EVENTS: If you can't make it to the party, please come to one of the book events already scheduled for Sand in My Bra. You can find

Sounds beachy, fun and open.

I'm hoping to make the Portland event.

I invited my boyfriend along, and he wants to know--what's the point of a bonfire while it's still light out? I told him I'd get an answer!

This comment was a much needed smile this morning Amy. Yeah, we're starting early because I have friends with kids, and because me the biggest kid of all wants to play games like catch and frisbee. My visits to SF are few and far between these days and I anticipate that they might only become less in the future. So, we'll be there all late afternoon and as late as we can soaking up the good times. If your man wants to wait till dark, we'll still be there. Come whenever, just come. :-)

Sounds good to me! Can't wait. I've been dying to go to a bonfire since I moved here and never been able to until now. Woohoo!

I'm not sure that I can fit into your brassiere, madam.
I'm not that I would want to, anyway. Too sandy in there.

Besides: bras that might fit me look more like a couple of parachutes.

Maybe I should write a book entitled "What Color Is Your Parachute?"
