"Tanya Shaffer, Adair Lara, Lynn Ferrin, Laura Fraser (July 8th only), Carla King, and Jennifer L. Leo spin tales of adventure, hijinks, and romance on the open road, in locations ranging from the jungles of Borneo to the hallowed halls of the Vatican, from the desert sands of Timbuktu to the palaces of India. "
Tales from the Edge
by Jeff Greenwald and Jesse Kalisher
July 10-July 19, 2003, Thursdays through Saturdays, 8pm
Tickets: Thurs: pay what you can. Fri/Sat: $15-22
"Jesse Kalisher gives an account of his remarkable experiences traveling throughout the Middle East before, during, and after September 11, 2001. Shortly after the World Trade Center attack, an Iraqi chemical engineer visiting Jordan offered Kalisher a few harsh words about America.Jeff Greenwald who takes from Kurt Vonnegut the philosophy that "strange travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God," brings this quality of kismet into his new travel monologue, inspired by the vagaries of wanderlust. Audience members will step onto the stage, and spin a Wheel of Fortune. Round and 'round it spins, and where it stops, the story begins.... "
