rolfbackground.jpgNo, Rolf is not auctioning himself off like I did. But, you can pony up to get his time, attention, and seasoned editorial tutelage in the charms of the Latin Quarter, on the rue Saint Jacques. He will be teaching this summer at the Paris American Academy in France the entire month of July.

Creative Writing Workshop July 2nd - July 28, 2005

* Creative Nonfiction (including travel writing) - Rolf
* Fiction - Rolf
* Screenwriting (taught by HBO alum Stewart Lindh)
* Short Form (Stewart Lindh)
* Journal Writing (Harvard extension lecturer Gail Gardner)
* Presentation and Performance (Stewart Lindh)

I will be a guest lecturer at the end of the program, and Larry Habegger, executive editor of Travelers' Tales, will also be a guest lecturer.

In addition to taking classes and amassing writing portfolios, students will participate in one-on-one critiques with professional writers (inlcuding myself), give readings in Parisian bookshops, and receive "survival" French lessons. Other instructors include HBO veteran screenwriter Stewart Lindh and Harvard extension lecturer Gail Gardner.

Between classes and tutorials, there will be ample time to experience the city, attend cultural events, visit museums, learn history, take day-trips to the countryside, read books, hang out in cafes, dance by the Seine, and make friends from around the world.

Cost: $3500/ $2700 without accommodations
Deadline: Those interested in reserving a slot in the program must send in a $250 non-refundable deposit by April 30th. The rest of the tuition is due by May 31st in order to secure apartments. You can pay by check, money order, or credit card.

IF YOU SAY THAT YOU SAW THIS ON WRITTEN ROAD, I'LL TAKE YOU OUT FOR A BEER, OR WINE, OR CHOCOLATE ECLAIR WHILE I'M THERE.

Come on, it's worth it. Must I remind you how cool Rolf is? Just think, you might be able to sell a whole article, screenplay, or novella about your summer with Rolf Potts. Lets see...who would play him. Matt Damon? No way. How about the guy in Alias. Mmmm......

Why of why can't this be in June? Can't the world just revolve around me? July is so far away! I will be poor by then (that's not to say I am not already- I AM living in the 2nd most expensive city in the world, thank you very much). *sigh* we'll see.
